Hand-tied hair extensions are taking over! The latest in hair extensions, "Hand-Tied" refers to the type of hair weft used. They are made individually by hand.
Hand-Tied wefts are so popular because they allow stylists to add the maximum amount of thickness and length with no glue and no tape.
With hand-tied, the weft lies flat against your head for the most seamless application ever available in hair extensions.
The First Salon in Orlando To Stock Hand-Tied Wefts!
If you visit another salon in Orlando for an extensions consultation, you would be told that it would take a few days to order your hair. You would pay for it and wait for your appointment to have it put in.
The day of your appointment would be the first time you would see the hair that was going to be installed. If you wanted it faster, the salon would have to charge you more for overnight shipping. This is not ideal.
We’ve partnered with Luxury Hand-Tied extensions brand Frame & Thread to change all of that.
We’re stocking all 27 Frame & Thread colors in 18", 22", & 24" (some lengths not available in all colors) at both of our Winter Park locations!
Where other salons have to order and sell you packs of hair, each Frame & Thread weft is sold individually. This gives us complete creative control to give you the most realistic dimensional blend that perfectly matches your natural hair.
When you come in for your hand-tied weft consultation with Stella Luca, you will see and hold the actual hair that you can reserve for the date of your installation. You’ll see the color, the shine, and the length. You’ll feel the smooth texture and you will know exactly what you are getting.
Why Will I Love Hand-Tied Weft Extensions?
Seamless Blend
With proper installation, hand-tied wefts are virtually undetectable in the hair. With the Invisible Bead (IBE) method, you can even wear your hair up in a high pony.
Amazing Color Selection
Hand-tied wefts are available pre-colored or can be custom colored to perfectly match your hair. Your stylist can glaze or re-color hand-tied wefts at your adjustment appointment. You'll always have shiny, glossy hair.
Longer Lasting Hair
Hand-tied wefts last longer than other types of hair extensions. By eliminating tape, glue, plastic, and other unnatural elements, you are left with a strong, organic product that does not break down quickly. With proper care, a client can expect to get 8-12 months of wear before they need to replace their wefts.
Maximum Length and Volume
Scroll through your Instagram feed and you'll see your favorite influencer's beautiful long natural-looking hair. Their secret is hand-tied weft extensions. The wefts are extremely light which makes it easier for your stylist to layer the wefts and give you long length with thickness that is hard to achieve with any other type of hair extensions.
Hand-Tied Wefts are Better Than Flat-Wefts, Machine-Wefts, and Silk-Wefts
Flat-wefts, machine-wefts, and silk-wefts are interchangeable terms for wefts with a thicker, less-flexible, stiff track. They are bulky, heavier, and less comfortable. IBE method can not be done with this type of hair and they are generally not used with custom blended colors.

The Service
How many rows or wefts will I need?
This depends on how thick your hair is and your desired end results. Your stylist can give you more information during your consultation.
How much does the service cost?
The initial service is the most expensive because you will be purchasing your wefts. During future visits, you will only be charged for adjustments. Your stylists can give you a more specific pricing during your consultation. Generally, 18" wefts are around $110+ per weft, 22" wefts are around $150+ per weft, and 24" wefts are around $200 per weft. A full installation usually requires 6-12 wefts and installation is usually priced between $150 and $200+ per row. 1 to 3 rows can be needed. Installation pricing varies by stylist and method used.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
You should arrive with very clean, dry hair with absolutely NO product including oils, stylers, conditioners, etc. This is essential to make sure the extensions will last as long as possible.
How long does the process take?
The time varies depending on the desired look. It can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
Aftercare
Can I treat my hair the same as before?
Not exactly.
- The correct brushes, cleansing, conditioning, heat-protecting, and styling products will be recommended. It is very important to follow the recommendations made by your stylist.
- Brushing 3-4 times per day will prevent tangling.
- Conditioners, oils, and products containing silicone must be kept away from the root (apply mid-shaft).
- A heat protectant, like Kerastase Nectar Thermique, must be used before flat ironing or blow drying your hair.
- Do not sleep with wet hair.
- Do not have your hair colored by anyone other than the stylist who applied your extensions.
- Treat yourself to a silk pillow to prevent snags during sleep.
Some additional care may be required to get the most out of your extensions. This will be explained during your initial consultation. Improper care may damage some of your extensions and will require you to make more frequent visits to the salon for maintenance. With improper care, the costs associated with in-salon maintenance of your extensions will increase as the stylist will have to allow more time for your visit.
Can I swim in a pool and go to the beach?
We recommend against swimming with hair extensions. If just can't resist, just as your own hair can be affected by chlorine and salt water, it is best to use extra precautions to prevent tangling, dryness, and damage. Frequent swimming and salt-water or chlorine exposure will dehydrate the wefts and will significantly reduce their life expectancy. Use a protective product with added UV protection to prevent damage from salt, chlorine, and other chemicals that may damage your extensions. That it is essential to use the proper hair care products and methods to keep your hair clean and healthy can not be stressed enough. Your stylist will discuss this during your consultation.
How about physical activities like tennis, running, or regular workouts?
As with swimming, you will want to take extra precaution. If you will be outside, it is essential to use the proper UV protective products. You would be advised that you should brush, wash, and condition your hair as quickly as possible after intense physical activity.
Can I have my hair colored with extensions?
Yes, a professional colorist will have no problem maintaining your hair color. If you decide you want a color change, you will most likely have to replace your extensions as it will be almost impossible to get them to match the new color of your natural hair.
Is it normal for some of my extensions to come out on their own?
It is possible that, over time, the wefts can slide or loosen. With the right aftercare and regular maintenance, this should not happen.
What type of follow-up appointments are required?
It is recommended that, on the day of your installation, you book an adjustment appointment within 7 weeks. During that adjustment visit, your stylist can discuss extending time between adjustments by a week or two as long as you are following the proper aftercare instructions. You should not wait to schedule these visits as our hand-tied extensions stylists are typically booked far in advance.
